« on: September 15, 2008, 10:24:06 PM »

01 SERG.  I've got a steady "clank" coming out of the primary.  Is there any sort of update on torque'n the comp nut?  Thanks for the help.

There was an update to the comp nut torque spec a couple years ago.  First take it to 75 foot pounds.  Then another 45 degrees.  Given the vintage of your bike it's likely not an issue but also worth double checking that the comp nut is short enough that it's not bottoming out.

Very cool, I'll make sure to check it.  Would it be safe to put the bottom of the nut to the wheel if it is on the long side?

That's what I've done.
