07 SERK broken down on the motorway
« on: September 15, 2008, 03:37:50 PM »

Hi

I've got an 07 serk that was borrowed by my other half and is now sat awaiting a break down truck on the M56.

Since Ive had it, I've had odd instances where its briefly cut out, had a quick loss of power, stalled but immediately restarted, or occasionally felt like the accelaration was "clogged".

On travelling back today, he said that it started to splutter and the more he tried to accelarate, the more it resisted and slowed. It cut a couple of times, when he noticed that the electric briefly died, then would cut back in again. It eventually ceased to accelarate at all. Now stuck on the hard shoulder, he says it will start, but as soon as he puts it in gear, and lets the clutch out, it just dies again. The breakdown guy couldn't do anything with it but did make a comment that it wasn't the fuel.

NB - recently had all cylinder gaskets replaced under warrantly due to leaks - all fixed now (humph!)

Any ideas anyone!?!

Any help/suggestions much appreciated - my pride and joy needs your help
Thanks
Ruth

Check the circuit breaker. A few year back HD had failure with the 40 AMP circuit breaker , they replaced with a 50 AMP breaker.

Just a thought,
