To question lean or not the first and easiet thing to do is take a look at the plugs.   So many factors both inside and outside the bike go in to this that it'll be tough for anyone but you or whomever is looking at the engine to be able to tell you anything.  For what it's worth, mine seems to have settled in at right around 40 miles per gallon for highway runs that stay below 75 mph.

I stay right at 42 running 75 to 85 with the Fuel/Air set at 14.2-1.

Coolbreeze

It's not the gas mileage stopping you.
It's that thing on your face. [smiley=shocked2.gif]

HEY!  [smiley=cry2.gif] that's not a "thing", that's a life long attempt to grow a beard that doesn't mold! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Actually, that's what happens to yer face when you have to stop for gas 6 times a day!

I get between 33 and 38 mpg on mine. I usually average 75-80+ on the freeways and I am on it pretty hard most of the time around town. I think if I kept it down around 65 - 70 on the freeway I would see better milage but then it just would not be as much fun [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

To answer your question 46 does seem like really good milage and maybe a bit lean. I would check the plugs to see how lean they are. The best way to do this is run it at freeway speed and when it is safe to do so hit the kill switch and coast over and check them. Ideally they should be a tan color.

Wow, I feel really good now Nut.  If the red bike goes through a tank on all two lanes where I have to run 50-60 and never twist it hard she'll get 42.  Doesn't happen often that a whole tank gets run that way though.

I'm curious what tempature your motor is runnin' at after getting that kind of mileage?

I get about 30 mpg typically, if I take it easy (a rare occasion) I get 35 mpg, but that's the best I've seen!!!  [smiley=furious.gif]

I have averaged 34 MPG on my last two tanks. Bike was dyno tuned and the air/fuel mixture is +/- 13.

Sure would, Hollywood.....any change to the exhaust system without the Stage 1 download will create a "leaner" situation than you had from the factory.  How lean, can only be determined on the dyno.
