COOL DOWN YOUR HARLEY DAVIDSON......
« on: September 24, 2008, 10:45:03 PM »

I just found this........any opinion?

If you own and ride a late-model Harley-Davidson motorcycle, especially those 2007, 2008 and 2009 versions, you’ve probably noticed a greater than normal amount of heat radiating from the engine: especially on the Bagger models. This is because the engines are tuned extremely lean in order to pass emissions standards.

Fortunately, we have the solution for you.

The Fi2000 not only tunes your H-D for optimal performance, it also lowers the cylinder-head temperatures by approximately 100 degrees. That lower cylinder-head temperature makes a noticeable improvement in rider and passenger comfort. You don’t have to just take our word for it, because you can read more in the American Rider article posted on our web site

With no computer downloads and an installation that’s the easiest in the business, the Fi2000R can have your bike running better and cooler in under an hour and for under $300.00 Check us out at www.Fi2000r.com

Jorge, before I would pay $300 for that simple device I would pay $320 for a Power Commander that can do so much more.  The FI2000 is just one more of the tons of devices patterned after the Techlusion/DFO tuners, and is only good for adding fuel in 3 separate zones of the rpm range.  IMHO the $300 would be best used towards a SERT, PC, or other full function tuning device.

Jorge - Nice find, but in their drop down menu to choose a product, they say "we've programmed the unit for your bike" but they don't list the 09' models and nothing is mentioned about the high performance CVO models unless I am missing something. It is definitely worth considering and looks like a cost saving soultion to fixing the lean condition of out factory bikes without the additional cost of putting it on the dyno plus the cost of the PCII, SERT or Super SERT.

As I noted above, a PCIII can be purchased from places like Fuel Moto for about the same price.  You don't have to run right out and get a dyno tune, you can use maps available from the PC website or in the case of Fuel Moto they will load a map for your particular combination before they ship the PC.  Either of those methods don't cost anything extra, and will be every bit as close as a pot based tuner like the Cobra, V&H, or DFO.  The big difference comes later, when you determine that a real tune would be better than a one size fits all solution.  If you have the PC (or SERT, etc), you won't have a now useless $300 device that has to be replaced by a PC, SERT, etc. before you can do a professional tune.  Trust me, been there done that.

The other nice offering from Fuel Moto is once you have purchased a PC with a pre-loaded map, if you are having any issue at all, you can call Jamie and discuss the issue.  He will then tweak your map based on your comments and email the revised map to you.  And if you move the PC to another bike that requires a completely different map, he will send a new map to meet your new requirements - also at no charge.  They are very customer friendly.
