Used Race Tuner

I bought a used race tuner at a swap meet last weekend #32107-01E. It came with the module, cables, CD, and looked to be in perfect condition. Do these things marry themselves to the bikes computer, or will I be able to reuse this to tune my bike?

The SERT will marry to the ECM and will only be able to be used on that specific ECM. If the one you bought has already been used once then you have bought a paper weight. :(

look on the bright side, whatever you paid, you at least own the SERT interface cable.

You can connect it to the bike and do basic stuff.  I believe you can record and read real time performance data.  If you have the newer software you may also be able to pull status codes.  You cannot push a new map to the bike if it's been married -- and it most likely has been. 

Can't hurt to hook it up and see what happens.

Sorry for the late reply, have been out of town for a couple weeks. I paid $40 for one tuner and minutes later found and bought another for $10. One is a #32107-01B, the other is a #32107-01E. The 01E software should work for my bike. I talked to a well respected local Dyno Tuner and he said the same thing. That if its been used, you cant use it again. He did offer to hook them up and see if either would work for me, and if they didn't give me a deal on a new unit.

Let us know how it goes.  Be cautious about the deal the tuner is offering.  If he's offering less than 20% off of retail you can do better on the web.  Shipping would probably be less expensive than sales tax.
