SEEG Seat problem
« on: July 23, 2005, 07:58:03 AM »

I just noticed that the finish is peeling off of the passenger part of my seat. It is a dime sized spot on the section that kinda looks like snake skin. Dealer ordered me a new one. Anyone else have this problem?

My new seat came in Thursday. Pick it up today. Hope this is more durable?

The spots that you mentioned on the passenger area sound suspiciously like the dime sized spots that I caused on my passenger seat by allowing blue loctite to come in contact with the leather panel. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Just got the new seat from the dealer and the stitching is way off. Ordered another one.

Why don't you just get rid of the that brick they call a seat and something that is functional for a long ride? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
I ordered a replacement after the first weekend of riding.  That seat is pure looks without a comfort. [smiley=thumbsdown.gif]

After reading this it made me go look at mine, and also reminded me I hadn't used the leather treatment in awhile. So, I took the seat off, and applied H-D Leather treatment and letting it sit overnight before wiping excess off. Thanks for the heads up, and reminding me that the seat (leather) requires some routine maintenance.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I had not used any leather treatment, but my bike was only 6 weeks old. Anyway, the dealer is making it right.
