Touring Electrical Problem
« on: August 04, 2005, 10:20:59 AM »

I have a 2001 Road Glide.
The indicator light for the high beam keeps burning out.
I have replaced it 5 times in a month and suspect other electical reasons.

Has anybody else had this problem, or know of the solution?

My guess would be that you have a grounded lead under the control for your brights.  This would be especially indicated if you have had your collar off where your switchs are.
Check it and look for a pinched wire.

I agree with the grounded leg. Provided the following, have you noticed the Hi-Beam indicator coming on by itself? The switch completes the ground circuit, i.e. source to ground. If you have a pinched or grounded leg, the indicator light would come on and more than likely turn the hi-beams on without the switch actually being depressed.

Lemme know your findings.
