removeable windshield

           I'm thinking of buying a clip on wind shield for my 08 softail custom from H D
 Any suggestions.

See if you can beg, borrow or steal a trial ride on a bike with whatever one you are thinking of.  I've had two HD ones and a Clearview and all of them create too much buffetting.  And all of them sit in the garage.  A lot of people have them, so it may work for you, however.

Anything from Clearview is great stuff, if you can wait for it.  Alternatively, Clearview does sell in bulk to resellers, and will be happy to tell you to whom they just shipped a batch, and provide contact info.  That's how I got mine without waiting.

I have used the HD quick release windshield with great success. If it is of the proper height and angled back at the top you should not have any buffeting problems.

That's what I was hoping for, but it will start shaking your eyeballs at about 40 mph, and you have to keep your teeth clenched or they chatter so hard you think they're going to break at highway speeds.  Clearview wasn't much better.
