Great info, looks like I made a great choice in going with the V&H Propipe for my motor build.

This confirms that you can stand on the street corner and get a different opinion each time someone passes by.  ON ANY SUBJECT!

If I'm reading correctly that graph is showing approx 115 H/P from a stock 103 with just a pro pipe, race tuner and S/E intake.

Sometimes you have to call bullchit on bullchit and that is definately B/S.

IMHO

And that's no reflection on the pipe, the race tuner-->(the part) or the air breather!

You said it Chip!! I called BS on this in the Freedom Thread a day or to ago: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=eg_gen;action=display;num=1099534567;start=375#375

There is no way that the SE slip ons will produce more power then the Reinharts

displacing air

Looks like 107hp with the pro pipe and 98 with the eagle setup...if I am reading the chart right. Where did the 115 come from?

Is this bs...yeah or neh...

If you blow up the first graph, they are showing the Pro Pipe with 116 ft lb torque and 106.9 HP, versus the Rinehart  at 107 ft lb and 98.6 HP.  The fine print at the top indicates these are 5th gear runs, which is not the normal method most folks use (4th gear) .  As is true with all dyno testing, absolute numbers aren't necessarily comparable to the numbers from a different dyno and operator.  You would hope, however, that comparisons between runs with the same dyno and operator would be valid.  Unless, of course, the person running the tests has a vested interest in the outcome.  Is it possible that MMG has a reason to promote V&H and/or the Race Tuner?  I have no way of knowing that, but it is a valid question to ask.  Common sense and experience would indicate that the 2 into 1 pipe should outperform the true duals at lower rpms, and the true duals should prevail on the top end.

Just my 2 cents worth.

How ironic, I have a Screamin Eagle Pro 2:1 (made by V&H), Race Tuner, & SE Air Cleaner. I made 95hp & 105tq, 4th gear roll on.

I smell Doo Doo...

I have exactly what they run.....the stock 103" with the exception of the Screamin Eagle High Flow Air Cleaner, HD Race Tuner and the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe.  My dyno sheet speaks for itself (about 2/3 the way down the page on this link).... http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=eg_gen;action=display;num=1072508181;start=360  And while I'm happy with what numbers I've turned in comparison to many of the others, it still raises many questions.

The first thing that I noticed was that they run their tests in 5th gear and I've never saw that before.  The second thing I noticed is the difference in TQ and HP from my run.  Now I realize that the tuner can make a huge difference while things like altitude (Sacramento...bout 40' above sea level) humidity and tempreture also make a difference......but that is a huge difference.

I don't think it's a secreat that the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe is a performance exhaust (second to Thunderheader in my humble opnion) but then look at the article in American Rider a month or so ago regarding the D&D Fat Cat (which is a true 2 into 1 with a dummy left side), it also left the Rhinehart exhaust behind. Taking into consideration that we're riding heavy bikes and are only in the upper RPM range for a fraction of time compared to the lower and mid range (where a 2 into 1 out performs any dual exhaust) RPM range, the 2 into 1 is the exhaust that I have to go with......just a question of which one?

I agree with most everything you say except one thing!

Your remark about,

"in my humble opnion"

Your opinion may be valuable, it may be funny, it may be true,

But it's never been
