Has anyone tried the Quick Shifter?
« on: November 12, 2008, 08:56:05 AM »

Just wondering if anyone has installed one of these Quick shifters and how well do they work?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Saw it in Stugis a few years ago and it just looked like a lot of extra linkage to worry about.  Just my 0.02 worth.

"Fits '93 to current H-D Touring models (ex. FLHTCSE, FLHTCUSE, FLHRS, And FLHX). May be used on '92-earlier models if left front footboard mount is updated with '93-newer style.  Note: Installation on models with fairing lowers requires a notch to be cut in the bottom, trailing edge of the fairing lowers."

Can't say that I've ever seen this in use.  As magoo said, looks like a lot of maintenance intensive linkage hanging down where it will constantly collect road grime.  Good thing those bushings are replaceable.

PS  How about an electric push button shifter instead?

Anybody know why this won't fit FLHTCUSE, etc?

If you want to up grade your shifter, I'd say go with the Pingle electronic push button. It's like a remote control for your transmission. That way you won't even have to pick up your foot to shift...
