Ran my 103 for 24K, and it always liked to be 1/2 quart low.  Fill it up and it would just blow it out the air cleaner, so I just did what the motor seemed to like.

My 113 Star engine does the same thing, so this is not just a HD thing.

Not saying you don't have a problem, but it would be worth trying before taking it further.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I was coming up on my 10K service and heard an horrible noise (ping, ping). I checked the oil and nothing! Dip stick dry as a bone. At that time had to put 3 qrts. I dont see any leaks also. Now at my 15k checked it again and added 1 qrt. Going to switch oil as well. Ride my bike all over the place and at times hours on end.
I had the recall done myself.

After reading this at least I know where to start.

I've never added oil between scheduled oil changes on any bike and have never seen my oil level drop too drastically in between.  Am I missing something?  How often should I be checking the oil in this 09 SEUC?  I had the 1000 mile service done, and I'll have it done at 5000 and every 5000 thereafter.  I usually make a check about every 2500 miles, but I've never noticed a problem requiring adding oil.

I usually check about once a week or after any hard ride (hours of running above 70)

every 2500 miles, but I've never noticed a problem requiring adding oil.

And you won't notice a problem if you wait that long between checking.
