The media would have us believe that Galveston was completely leveled in the hurricane.  Looks OK to me.

Local gas finally went below $2 ($1.99).  It was $1.65 on the Indian Reservation an hr. ago where they don't charge any taxes.

There are parts including the Strand where they were under 9 feet of water from the storm surge.
There is still a lot of damage and mess still to clean up and I suspect they won't be back to semi normal for about a year.

Thanks for the pics! Would have been there, but got wicked sick Thursday and didn't recover til Sunday.
