Where to buy Kuryakyn panacea?
« on: December 18, 2008, 09:40:36 PM »

Looking to buy smoked panacea turn signals, and the smoked brake light.  Found the brake light and module on ebay but can not find the turn signals.
Thanks

You might want to look at that tail light in the daytime -- you can hardly see it.  I was sorry to own one.  Looked so cool in my garage at night though.....

I have to agree, i sell the Kury products and when the sun is at your back you realy can not see them very well. Daylight riding is when you need the bright brake light most.

The Billets Boys LED tailight is the best and brightest in my opinion. Availible in red or smoked lens

Way back in 02 when I took delivery of my 03 SERK, the first thing I did was 86 the smoked lenses. They just don't allow the light to shine through. I also don't see what the big deal is about them design wise either. A lense is a lense is a lense in my book. Save your money and stay with the stock set. Find something you need/want more.

Just my $0.02

From everything I've read, Heavycycles offer the brightest brake/tail light on the market.

Glad I asked...last thing I want to do is decrease the visibility.
Thanks for the info.

Just to clarify is it the smoke lense that is not good or is it the LED?

The Kury LED.  LED's are not all created equal.  Low power LED's are common & inexpensive, and that's what you got going with the Panacea.  The Heavycycles LED tail light assembly will burn your retinas even with a smoked lens.

Brand "K" (gee I wonder who brand K is) vs Heavycycles brake light:

Just to toss this into the mix, I've had truck drivers say that when they come up on a motorcycle, if all there is is a tailight they cannot judge distance. They say you need to add lights up high and off to the side to triangulate so they can gauage. This is why many of our members have lighted saddlebag lid spoilers and tour-pak lights. Again, do what you want with your money but if you're running a SERG or something else with a chopped TP or even a King TP without the light bar you might want to look at ways to add some lights vice just making the tailight brighter.

Wonder if the Heavy Cycles tail light would work in conjunction with the Panacea turn signals?  If so it would have to run thru the Panacea controller & equalizer.

Have seen those Heavycycles lights on the street before.  They are the brightest things I've seen without exception.  I've never been a fan of the Panacea lights as they've seemed (to me) far more cool than effective.  Get the sun behind you and they often are very difficult to see.

But the Heavycycles lights are so damned expensive.

$225 to $325 for a a tail light?  Ouch....

I know, I know; get hit in the rear just once and $325 will seem cheap.  But even so.  A third of a thousand dollars to replace a three dollar bulb is hard to swallow.

I added the HD light in the chrome luggage rack...it was the first thing I did but what a disappointment.  Talk about dim!!!  I like the bag spoilers, I guess it is time to re-think the lights.
The big draw to the Panacea was the 4 quick flashes of the brake light...I find that I am always looking in the mirror manually flashing the brake light until I see cellphone talker in the cage behind me is going to stop.
I am going to try the module from brand K with the stock lights and see if I can at least get the flashing brake.
