Well red bikes do attract more police interest.   We always let the guys with the red bikes ride point, that way the cops ticket them and leave us alone. :D

I'm assuming that since it's a finished surface leather, it probably can't be dyed.  Anyone know for sure? 
I don't know anything 'for sure', but I'm guessing that some black leather dye that the local shoe shop will have will easily permanently make it all black.  :2vrolijk_21: spyder

I don't know if the dye will get through the glossy finish and into the leather.  I guess the only way to find out is to ask someone that does this sort of thing.  I think I'll ask them at the local leather store.  I think they do leather repairs, etc there, so they should be able to tell me.

I could probably use a dremel tool and cut through the shiny barrier on the leather, and then it would probably take the dye :orange: :pepper: :nixweiss:   (Before anyone responds to that, I wasn't serious)
