Speedo problem
« on: February 01, 2009, 06:17:02 AM »

My speedometer suddenly started to read 70% slower than it should. The Odometer is still accurate and the self-cancelling turn signals still work. Is it the speed sensor or the speedo itself? 2002 FXD.

Pull the sensor from the trans and clean off the fuzz, may help. But sounds as if you will need a new sensor.  Doc

If the odometer is working correctly than I doubt the sensor is the culprit. Can't hurt to pull it out and clean it though. Sounds like its internal to the speedo.
