Doc, will keep fingers crossed that relaese of this gauge is quicker than was release of the spun aluminum oil temp gauge.  It was at least a couple years after the standard spun aluminum gauges were on bikes before that gauge was released.

Not likely to come from McEwan.  Not too long after he began selling the spun aluminum gauge he did offer the phone stopped being answered.  The stock still occasionally seeping out of a few vendors is just old stock.

Heres a number for Roger. You may try Roger McEwen 951-736-4421 he made the oil temp gauge for the SEEG before HD came out with one.

You can forget this guy. Never responds to mail and has a dead phone.

If you want piece of mind and less frustration, I recommend forgetting about adding gauges.  There is already too much information that is scaring the bejesus out of people, and I'm coming to believe we should eliminate all gauges and just ride.  I rode for a lot of years with only a speedometer and managed quite nicely.  Now with all these "highly accurate" gauges from H-D, I constantly wonder if the oil pressure is acting weird or is it just the POS gauge, or is the voltage whacked out or is it just the POS gauge, etc.  If they don't want to provide useful and accurate gauges, I wish they would just eliminate them altogether.  Put a sight glass on the fuel tank to check the fuel level, and a couple idiot lights for oil pressure and alternator output, and it's good to go. :2vrolijk_21:

does that gauge really work anyway? when I had mine, it looked like it was always pegged to the right all the way. so after a while I quit looking at it. I don't have one now, nor do I miss it either. Maintain the fluids and I really think you'll be fine,,,,,Jmho!

That one made me smile Jerry.  Reminded me of a conversation I had when I was 16.  Had a 1966 El Camino.  It had idiot lights.  And a clock.

I was jonesing for gauges.  Couldn't afford the nice set of Stewart Warner gauges at the local parts store.  But a local salvage yard had a 66 Chevelle with gauges and they'd sell me the instrument cluster for $15 if I pulled it.

Getting the entire cluster out of those was a bitch.  Getting it and the matching harness in and out of the El Camino was even more.  Finally after two weekends it was done.  I was proud.  It all worked.  Then dad said "that's good son, and now you've got a lot more to worry about going down the road too."

That is so right. When I got my first E-Glide (stepping up from the speedometer only Fat Boy) a friend said to me: Now with all these gauges you think you know what is wrong and start worrying, instead of just riding.

Ride safely,
