Best Aux Light Pigtail Wire Harness?
« on: December 19, 2012, 09:23:09 PM »

Harley has the wire harness to keep the aux lights on with the highbeam, PN 69200441, I saw a pigtail from Kuryakyn that is $19.99 which is about ten dollars cheaper than the Harley item. What is everyone using? Is one better than the other, I know it's just a little wire harness? I know some made there own pigtail, I'm not that mechanical. Did a search didn't find any mention of anybody using the Kuryakyn part. Thoughts, comments, please. Thanks

I used the Harley pigtail. Easy install, but I chose to remove the fairing.

I have this in my 04.   Really easy install and it works very well.   The only thing I'd that the passing lamps stay on when the bike is switched to assy..   Don't know why.  The front faing doesnt have to come off to put it on,,, just the fairing cap.  Took about 15 mins.

OK cool! I guess I'll just go with the Harley harness since my local stealer has some in stock and by the time I order the Kuryakyn part and pay shipping it is almost the same price.

The jumper changes the power for the aux lamps to come from the accy circuit. Hence when the ignition switch is set to accy power is provided to the aux lamps. Just turn them off from the toggle switch on the inner fairing cap.

I installed mine when the fairing was off to install the LED headlamps and aux's. Would have been hard to do without removing at least the cap. Mine had a tie wrap such that it would not have pulled down far enough to gain access.
