I had a problem keeping oil in my 07, (imo) I was blowing oil out of the exhaust.

I had the same problem with my 05 softail, 2 qts every 5K miles. The dealer told me the same thing so I had them call HD and ask them if they thought a judge would agree with them. The next week I had new rings and valve seals! I wasn't bitchy, just persuasive.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Mine did the same thing. After duals I could tell it was the rear cyl. Dealer said that the motor was running rich.  :o
It did not smoke except at start up.
When they did the "enhansment" they found the rear head/gasket was loading the rear cyl with oil. It is now much better, no smoke but still uses some oil.

Not  a real good comparison but my Infiniti dealer told me 1pt/1000 was within factory limits for its V6. My G35 was using about 1.25 qt/1000. They suggested switching to Castrol (vs Mobil 1 I was using since break-in) and since then no oil usage at all. So there is something to dino oil in some engines. I've been using Amsoil in my RK but I haven't put many miles since I bought it (used) so can't tell if I'm "using" yet.

My 07 uses about 1/2 qt between oil changes (4-5000 miles) just changed from SYN3 to Mobil 1 have to wait and see how it does and have not had the recall done.

My 2007 CVO Springer uses 1 qt. every 1000 . Pulled the heads at 5000 mi. and BOTH intake valve seals were leaking. Replaced them with 'stock' {metal ones} and is sucking oil again. Am pulling the heads in the next week or 2 and will use the viton 'push on' type to see if that clears it up. 7500+ miles. Cyl. looked good. Never could figure it out ,some of those valve seals {stock} would leak , most don't. Take one off and look at it , rubber looks fine and soft and no cracks in the rubber ? Don't know ? Good luck with the 'push on type' tho. When I was doing head porting ,get a set of heads with 5000 miles on them and seals were leaking too , don't know. My 2005 FLHTC has 'stock' seals and does not use 1 drop of oil 5000 mile oil changes. Dewey
