Adding SE Heavy Breather - Do I need to re-dyno?
« on: February 21, 2009, 10:43:29 AM »

Morning from a snowy chicago!

I have a 2008 SERK with w/ Bub7's.  It was dyno'd and tuned before I got her... Do you think I will have to retune if I had a HD Heavy Breather or Ness Kit?

Thx

Scott

Did you take off the football and look?  I still have the stock football on but a round S/E Air filter under the football.

I was thinking the same...

I had a friend buy an Ultra Classic on Ebay sight unseen - upon it's arrival he found it to be hard starting - and it would not idle... (carburated bike)...  He was panicking...  The bike was delivered to him with stock headers and mufflers and stock air cleaner.

My friend asked me to fix it for him - and also asked me to install aftermarket pipes and K&N air cleaner for him...  When taking off the stock air cleaner and stock exhaust - I found they both looked to be in remarkable condition for a 3 year old bike.

Upon installation of the Rineharts and Ness Big Sucker w/K&N air cleaner, the bike started easily and idled fine.....

Obviously, the seller had removed aftermarket exhaust and air cleaner and reinstalled the stock pieces before shipping the bike to my buddy...  :nixweiss:
