Welcome to the sight. I have three Harley's and extended warranties on 2 the third just ran out on the 01 Sportster and I had leaking gaskets and a bad clutch basket replaced for the $50 charge and a few bucks for odds and ends. My guess is the $1400 warranty was a little more than the actual repairs and I had piece of mind. My SERK threw the stator a few years back and that was a $750 repair for $50 something. Hope that helps.
