If you own a pre campaign 07, they are called pieces of cra... that melt and and function sporadically resulting in new starter clutches, pinion gear and ring gear ass.

Now I understand why they are part of the "enhancement" program.  Because they forced you enhance all those other parts while they were in service :drink: .

Anyway:
Automatic compression release. Allows the engine compression to be lowered while cranking the engine over before it starts. Necessary ? for high compression engines with small starters and batterys.

Thanks much, now I know,  I assume from the comments there have been issues with these??  In your opinion has the motor company properly addressed them??

Yup. Problems. They are replacing them during the oil leak recall. The 110 is the only engine that uses them. Hopefully the replacements will be OK.
