Motor work
« on: February 03, 2009, 10:46:45 AM »

Looking to do some motor work.  Wondering if anybody did work to their screaming eagle.  Cams, injectors, etc.  What kind of horsepower did you get out of it.

Craig,
As the previous post mentions there have been plenty that have done motor work. It would help in providing the information if you let us know what bike you own to determine what motor you have. Also what you are looking for in a build.. TQ or HP? Once that is established then we might possible get the info you are requesting

Also welcome to the site glad to have you. :2vrolijk_21:

I just want make sure we spend it on the right things. Depending on if he has a CVO (95/103/110) or a Non-CVO (80/88/96) bike I want to make sure we've got the foundation correct on what we are going to help him spend his money on. ;) ;D

Welcome Craig, from Craig in Colorado. What part of NJ do you live in? I lived in Hightstown for 21 years.

As for mods, you might want to look at some threads, and do a few searches, there are tons of threads on mods. It also depends on how you ride and how far you want to go. There's some really modified bikes owned by some of this group.

Speaking on the topic of CVO engine work, we just completed a 2008 Dyna CVO 110", for a firefighter, from N. Syracuse, N.Y. (Yes, it was Red)
Bob Wood TW-8-6 cams, 55mm HPI/yellow bands, Rhinehart 2/1, our Level II CVO Head Mods, with corrected squish.
Our tuner faxed us a dyno report showing 134 hp/138 ft/lbs. While these are great numbers, there is more on tap with more cam/squeeze, but without a doubt, it would happen later in the rpm band.
We have done this combination several times now, but with either bagger duals, or a D&D Fatcat, but not quite this power, although near it.
Seems as though that the Rinehart works very well, but would be curious as to what a Guppy would do, same combination.
