Speedometer recalibration
« on: March 07, 2009, 03:12:32 PM »

Anyone know if the newer versions of the SERT allow speedo re-calibration?

If the newer SERT version does not have a speedo calibration in it, I use a calibrator made by S&S which plugs into the speedo plug under the RH side cover where the ECM is.  I realize you are going to s 6 speed, but I added the S&S several years ago because my stock speedo always read fast.

Thanks

www.sscycle.com

part# 55-1007    $144.85

www.sscycle.com/iframes/catalog50.php      Click on "electronics and engine controls" and then click on page 11 and it shows what it looks like.

www.sscycle.com/iframes/techtips.php   Go down and click general info and then speedo..

If you search on the site, it has installation instructions and how to set up to read properly.

Hope this helps and the links work.

I got mine from Mark at www.mandmcycles.com at 15-20% off.  List a couple years ago was around $110.00

That is it :2vrolijk_21: Thanks so much! Nothing like a $25,000 motorcycle with a speedo that is 4 mph off.

Dakota Digital also makes a calibrator...

When I researched this a few years ago, the forums I looked at thought the S&S was better.  I believe the Dakota is a lot cheaper.  This has been a few years ago so don't remember the exact reasons.

I have the Dakota Digital calibrator and it works fine... It's the calibrator Bert Baker @ Baker Transmission recommends... Since I installed a OD6 I used what he suggested...
