What's wrong w/tire dressing on tires?? :confused5: I don't use the "Armor All" brand, but I do use tire dressing on mine. As long as you don't get it on the tread there isn't a concern. Heck even the MoCo sells their own brand of it. :nixweiss:

Excellent point, Gary, but I don't use "tire dressing" or Armor All.  I just wash 'em and wipe 'em down with a terry cloth.  I just want to know what makes this guy think there's Armor All on my tires, since he seems to know my garage at least as well, if not better than I do after I've been living in this house for almost three years.  Like others, he also seems to think the hot water heater is right next to my shelves.......instead of recessed well into the wall structure..................but I'll get right on that.   :)

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with tire dressing when properly applied.........other than it collects dust.

Went to one of the Windows machines.  Unless I did something wrong, this is the first run.  119ish and 121ish.
This is what I get for reading backwards in a thread... hadn't seen the attachment to this post.

Henry those are great numbers, but beyond that it must be a rush to twist the throttle.  :vrolijk27: :2vrolijk_21:

I read/saw somewhere else where you were getting a personalized inspection cover after those numbers you may need another personalized cover somewhere else on Thumper that says..... "Sit down, hold on, & shut up" :D :D

Thanks Gary.  Getting off that 117cid and on the 88cid is.......well.......it doesn't suck........and it isn't bad..........and both bikes are fun.........it's just different.  WAY different.  OK, it's a whole friggin' lot different.  More so than night and day.  I'm content with the green bike, but Rod wants to tweak.........especially since an previously tuned similar build did the same thing yesterday.  Alot of factors in there......weather is one of them......especially at our field elevation.  He has the bike for a week or better so, we'll see how things work out.
Used to have an oval cover like that on my 03 FXST.  Vendor has since fallen by the wayside, so I'm having this one made.  Might end up on the purple bike, and I'll take your suggestion and have one made for the green bike.   :huepfenlol2:

That is past perfection.... that is awesome... and has made me thirsty. It's got to be afternoon somewhere. :beerchug: :D :D

That sounds like a place I could detail my bike again, again, again, again..... and again all in the same day. :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Look who came home today!

Finally........both bikes under MY roof!

Speaking of.......Rode the Purple Bike into work this morning........first day I've been able to do anything constructive since last Friday.  Rod called me and told me to get down there and pick up the Green Bike.  No Problem.........still not "really" into work anyway, and it meant I was going to get to ride back roads the whole way home to see how good the HPI oil filter mount works.
Renea drove me down there, and I picked up the bike.  WOW!  Completely different now that she's "Properly" tuned.  Felt really good to twist the throttle to the stop and just GO!  The only other bike I've ridden that made me smile like that had a V8.
Since I run a JAGG six row oil cooler mounted to the left downtube, without a thermostat, I'm seeing some pretty good oil temps for a 117cid.  During break-in, never got above 230.  Now that the HPI mount came in and has been installed, running at 80-100 mph never got above 220 degrees.  Got up to 230 at traffic lights in Huntsville, but once underway again, quickly dropped back to 220.  With the old mount, once it hit 230, it stayed there.  Supposedly the oil pathways in the HPI mount are larger and less tortuous, so the oil flows better, putting more oil through the cooler at a faster rate......therefore cooling much more effectively and efficiently.
I'll take some pictures this weekend and post them in the Twin Cam section.  The great thing about the mount is it can be used with the stock oil cooler.  Just install the hose nipples in the bungs on the bottom and put the plugs in the bungs on the side...........and there'd be one less tortuous bend through which the oil had to flow, making it that much more effective.............albeit through a less than efficient stock oil cooler.
