Comfort of the stock seat
« on: March 14, 2009, 01:55:31 PM »

It seems to me that i do feel what`s under the seat , that is not very comfortable .
I ordered the hd signature solo with rider backrest which should be much more comfortable and also should improve the angle for my knees by pushing me up 1" ( and i also ordered the signature passenger pillon ).

So, do you have a signature Passenger?

The new Corbin Solo is a great seat for the SERG - if you are willing to  deal with Corbin Customer Service.  The seat fits great, looks perfect and the comfort is off the charts.  You forgot you are sitting on a saddle -- and that IMHO is the true test of a good seat.

But it`s lower than the stock , and the angle at the knees would be worse than now

Corbin must have changed the way they make seats, I've had a number of them over the years and out of the box they sucked until they were broken in... in the mean time you had a sore butt...  Once they're broken in they're great seats.

Has anyone had their seat cover removed and gel inserted?

Doesnt really seem lower to me - maybe a tad bit but nothing more.  Doesnt seem to move you forward or down. Pretty similar position but it certainly feels like you are riding on a saddle with the normal saddle support.

Karl - so true but they have changed this seat.  It is a firm underlayer like usual with a softer thin upper layer almost quilted.  Instant comfort.

I'm not sure what they are putting on the SERG, but I really like the seat on my SEUC.  I logged around 300 miles total today and the only thought about the seat all day was having to turn the heat off when it got too hot.

Ok , this is JMO, Harley Stock seats suk. Have never had one I liked, as far as the ride goes. some look great but they ride for chit. Years ago there weren't any options and the MOCO didn't even address any seat conditions till the last year of the Hydro-Glide.
Today we have many options between stock, mustang, the buffalo Bob's, and others, but, my butt my choice, Corbin.
Stock is good when bar hoppin but for Tank-tank riding-Corbin.

That's why I'm surprised that the SEUC seat is comfortable for me.  I've always changed seats within the first 500 or so miles.  So far, this one has given me no problems.  I guess I'll find out for sure soon when I try some long distance riding.  But then I don't think this thread has to do with SEUC's.
