A story from the "good ole days" OK, here is the moment of the weekend. Here we are, blasting up highway 101 from Santa Barbara to Buellton, 55 mph limit, we're a little late. Our speed......85 mph, Van leading ( I like it ), I am second from last, Marty at the back. I pulled into lane 2 of 2 to wave Marty up to say something to him. Look into my mirror as I prepare to wave him up, and what do I see? Black and white, Bear, CHP on Marty's a$$! Poopie! Marty pulls into lane 2, with me, and Barney Fiffe blasts past us, right up to Ernie and Andy, who we have been flashing our beams at since we see Barney. Rides there fenders until they see him, they pull into lane 2 and he blows by them. Next up is Terrie and JC, a little longer to see him and they get out of his way, well the only one left is Van, the leader. Poopie again, he's gonna get it! Took forever for Barney to get Van's attention and he finally pulls into lane two. Barney follows, then rides Van's fender for about a mile ( which is forever with a cop on your a$$ ), Barney pulls out and next to Van, waves a scolding finger at him and blasts up the road. WhooW! 85 in a 55 would not have been good, but this NICE OFFICER let us fly! Thank you Mr. CHP!
