Does anyone know if the orange color used to pinstripe the 2005, red and black,SE Fat Boy, is used as a regular color on any Harley models? I have a little rust line, on the tip of the front fender, where the bare metal area is. I thought one of my fixes could be to paint the first 1/2" of the tip, with vivid black and then pinstripe with the orange color. This would match the rest of the color scheme and keep me from having to buy a new painted front fender from HD, for as I recall, $780.
I ordered the HD, Fat Boy , chrome fender tip, with the eagle on it. That would be my cheapest fix, buy not to sure I will like the way it looks.

I had to replace the front fender on the wifes 05 red and black,, the new fender only cost me $380 from the moco.

I have the chrome fender tips on my cobalt 05, I like them. Everybody comments how they look awesome. Oddly enough the only people that say they look "gay" and to take them off are the mechanics at HD.

Thanks for the pictures. I have the same front fender tip, just haven't installed it yet.
You might take your front tip off every so many months to make sure the fender hasn't started to rust at the tip.
Last November, I sanded off a thin rust line on my fender tip, where the unpainted part is. Made sure I got all the rust off, then shot some spray can, clear coat over that area. Now I can see 2 more thin lines of rust just barely starting. I painted under the fender at that time also, but it didn't seem to stop it from coming back.

You can get that fender on Ebay pretty cheap! the paint job on that bike is closely guarded by HD and they wont give any info on it!!The HD tech said it is a special primer they use to make the paint adhere to the grind! I had to replace the rear fender on mine. good luck
