Bubbling under racks of 08 CVO TourPak
« on: March 17, 2009, 11:19:29 AM »

Anybody got this? I've seen it on another bike and it didn't have the aftermarket hinges that was purchased here... Hope the pic attached... Going to the dealer to show... The clear under the rack is cracked and bubbling ... anyone take a guess?  A nonCVO friend has a 2001 Ultra model doesn't even have bubbling... Maybe its the clear coat on these CVOs.

Did it occur when they drilled the hole for the luggage rack?

BTW ... Nice bike. My friend who posts here as well has that model/color. METALLIC . . . So getting back to the racks on my bike, it's a CVO and everything was on as I rolled it off the show floor. But there are other CVO bikes here that have that description. Maybe using the racks as leverage when uprighting or backing out of a tough spot? number of factors, but in general, is other CVO tourpaks have this issue?

Gottcha, with the RG we need to order tour pack pieces separately and install them. Meaning we have to drill a hole for the luggage rack.

I had that problem on my 08 SEUC and Mother Harley replaced my Tour Pac LID under warranty. It was bubbling under each mounting point of the Tour Pac luggage rack.

Thanks for the heads-up. I got this bike not even a year and plan to see Mother Harley very soon. Took the pics and stored on Photobucket, just in case they don't have a camera AND at least some documentation that it is something other CVO bikes have...

Techie, I have the same paint scheme as you do white and silver. It was a battle but Moco finally gave in and replaced the TP lid. I even had my seat replaced by the Moco because the the leather was flaking off around the stich lines. Find a good dealer and get er done!!

Finally got to the dealer and was able to get the warranty for the lid...That was the easy part . . . not to wait approx 2 months to wait for the production line to get to it.  Sound reasonable?

Techie,
That about right on waiting for the new lid. It took about two months! Make sure they order a new weather seal for it. Mine came in and they had forgotten to get the seal so I had to wait another two weeks. FYI
