Laydown Plate
« on: January 16, 2006, 12:13:48 PM »

I've had a few questions on the Laydown license plate I'm using.  I did a bunch of looking around and found options ranging from $25 for something plain to $400 for the LED gold plated plate...

I ended up going with a chrome and custom pyramid back plate.  It fit well on the softail fender and was only about $40.  The frame is a plain chrome part from my local walmart (cost me $6.99) along with the chromed dome shaped bolts which were $2.99 for a pair, I used 2 pair.

Interested to see how others worked out the license plate frames/mounts...Give us some PICs.

Very clean looking mount.  The frame is O.K. but for the kind of bike you're riding I'd go with something a little more........get with hd-dude on this site and see what Billet Boys has to offer.  Just a suggestion.  Those little acorn nuts have to go, too......I realize those are porbably just temporary for you. The holes are already there from the factory POS plate mount.  Just un-bolt and pull off the factory mount and peel off the factory goo and replace with your own.
