Velva Touch Lifters for Twin Cams?
« on: September 13, 2009, 03:22:13 PM »

Saw the following on Wash DC's Craiglist:   http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/mcy/1371438183.html   .  Has anyone had any experience with the Velva Touch Lifters?  Could they really make a noticeable change in the valve-train noise?  They seem alittle pricey at $550 but maybe not if they work.  Sounds like they have been around awhile and were used in older scoots and are now staging a come back.

Just curious,

I vaguely remember something like this for Shovels.  But they weren't just lifters.  It was a lifter and lifter block combination thing.  Think the package even came with pushrods but wouldn't swear to it.

Thanks TwoLaneRider and Tony, the CL listing refers to Twin-cam applications.  Something to keep an eye on I guess.

Just clicked the link Blue.  Was curious about a potential new offering.  Listing had been pulled by the Craigslist police.

You are correct. They were designed to replace the stock evo aluminum lifter blocks. The helped to reduce loss of oil flow and pressure to the top end. They also work very well and are very quite. I wish they made them for twin cams.

Supposedly they do, or they will very shortly.  Read some info recently that said the guy who originated them was starting the business back up and would have versions for Shovels all the way to Twinkies.

The price is rather steep, until you realize it's for an entire kit that includes lifters, blocks, pushrods, and tubes.
