Where to buy a SERT map or get help with a map
« on: April 06, 2009, 09:38:46 AM »

This is not a MAP request. I already did that.

I have been looking on the net for SERT maps or help with making changes.
I posted a MAP request and got zero responses  :nixweiss:

Looking to make the bike run decent until I can get it dyno tuned, and given the rep of the area tuners I just as soon get a "made" map.

I had my bike running real good with the old setup, mostly by using canned maps and making some changes in the file.

With the new cams I am not having the same luck. At the minimum I cannot get rid of the decel pop (some times more then just a pop) and occasionally the bike just stalls. No particular reason - watch the tach - and at times the rpm's just drop and the bike dies, restarts right away.

I tried Latus HD, they have many maps for sale but not my app.

Anyone know were to obtain - buy maps.
Or someplace to go and gleam some info - suggestions?

Did you try hdmaps.com?You can also download maps from mastertune.net not sure if they will help
or not.Good luck.I was just thinking of what my tuner said when I brought my bike in.Every bike is different
even 2 identical models. He said there was something like 640 cells to go through. Also on the Mastertune instructions
I believe it said the [Deceleration Enleanment mode is activated when the throttle is closed. This causes "transient" fuel to be removed for a short period of time.  This effects "popping" and backfire when backing off the throttle]I hope this helps.

Did you try hdmaps.com?

Yes, nothing close enough and a little pricey to experiment with multiple maps

You can also download maps from mastertune.net not sure if they will help

If you can download I can't find a link. And I don't know if the Mastertune file can be read for a SERT

Every bike is different even 2 identical models. He said there was something like 640 cells to go through.

Every bike is different but two identical bikes /applications should be able to run near identical maps. No different then what most are doing with PC maps

Also on the Mastertune instructions, I believe it said the Deceleration Enleanment mode is activated when the throttle is closed. This causes "transient" fuel to be removed for a short period of time.  This effects "popping" and backfire when backing off the throttle.

Same with the SERT. I already have that set to zero.

I've made the same way than you with similar results !

No PRO TUNER or SERT Maps with HD'maps or with Latus HD for my setup.

I think that my setup is not so specific.
Surely, a base Map is somewhere !

Hi,I got my bike back today and I don't know what to think 98hp99tq but I also have a slight popping I will
have to bring it back.As for the mastertune site did you try clicking on the Harley Davidson tab?It should drop down and you will see a calibrations tab click that and when the page lodes you will see a little folder on the right side of the page named Tuning Files and below it a + HD Motorcycles click on that and it will drop down and you will see Big Twin Models click on that and you will see mt6 Files click on that and there you will find the files you are looking for.I am not sure if you must have to have their software installed on your PC to see it.they have both mt6 and mt7 but mt7 can only be used with their software.what are your specs year /motor/cam/ac/pipes let me know and I will send you what I can find.  Just got to thinking if you do not have a mastertune and you install a map from me or anybody else and it is not better you will have lost your old map!Mastertune will let you save your old map but not let you modify it in any way.

OK, don't know how I missed that before  :nixweiss:

Everything else adjusted right then that is usually the decel enleanment table.

With a SERT you can't download of the ECM, but you can always save an original copy of your file.

:) Glad you found it.I also did a lot of comparing of maps to try and get a basic knowledge of what I needed.I am going to ask the guy who tuned my bike to make adjustments and to give me a copy of the map he made[he did a lot of changes to the map].I put 113 miles today
and sometimes it seemed smooth and powerfull and other times it seemed like it had no power or was fighting itself.35mpg and I was fairly
hard on it.More testing tomarrow ;D
