Charges for dealer prep and delivery
« on: October 17, 2005, 02:15:14 PM »

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but given more of a buyers market, I would like to see what dealers across the country are charging for dealer prep and delivery.

Also, would like some insight regarding how long it takes to set up a new bike.

In Arizona, having polled 4 dealers out of about 10 it ranges from 1350-950.  Seems this area has evolved into a seperate profit center.

IROAR, pretty sure the delivery is $320 across the country and the prep is usually close to the same amount, although some charge more and some even eat both charges. You just have to shop around and ask for the out the door price.

It varies by year and model but I recall it being about 2.6 hrs. You can find it for up through 2004 models using this link and they have the complete H-D time standards and codes there in .pdf form, as well as the details for dealer set up on 2005's. http://www.harleyhog.co.uk/timecodes.htm
