New "Ouiet" Silencer for D&D Fatcat
« on: June 05, 2006, 07:14:46 PM »

Hot off the presses>>>> You might of heard it here first, if not pretend you did>>>>>I just returned for a quick trip over to D&D in Ft Worth to double check O2 Sensor Lengths and placement and Lo and behold I asked Chris of there was a "quiet" silencer  for the Fat Cat  and the answer is  almost YES>>> They are now doing the final R&D on it.. Should be released around Aug 1st>>> Cost of $100-$125 with the Db's around 100. The Regular one we have is about 125. They will be rolling it out  at the  Lone Star Rally in Galveston in August>>>>

P.S I also have a SERT map for a 103 with the " Performance Baffle" if anyone is interested>>>>

AS always.... Thanks so much... You guys are awesome>>>>>Greg

Hi,

I have a question, at what RPM are the DB readings taken.  I want to gain some power, but would like to stay reasonable in the area of volume!

Thanks

I may also be interested in this setup.
My ears are shot after a lifetime of abuse and even with earplugs I would like to keep the noise level down. Unfortunately, limiting my choices for performance improvements.

Now I'm confused.  When I bought my FC's 2 months ago I was told there was a HiPerformance (loud), and a touring one for baggers (quiet).  I got the quiet, and I have to agree that it's a pretty good comprimise.  Sounds good, but not offensive at idle.  Nice at cruise, I can hear the radio and the wife.  Getting on it, there's a good bark.
So there's going to be a quieter one????  I was kinda hoping for louder.....I'm probably going to get the HiPer so I can swap it out for rallies, poker runs, etc.......anybody not want theirs????

any issue replacing the standard baffle with the quiet baffle AFTER the headers are coated by Jet Hot?  Have standard baffle in now and its a little loud, so have ordered the quiet baffle but in the mean time, having header coated by Jet Hot using Extreme Sterling coating

My 07 had the D&D standard baffle which was too loud.  Switched (that's a pain in the $^$^$&%) it to the quieter baffle, quieter but still too loud.  Glad to hear they are coming out with a true "quiet baffle".

New bike has Rinehart slip-ons and a non Cat header pipe.  Sounds just right after I install baffle material (piece of cake less than an hour and it works great).  $30.00 for the material.

The D&D's definitely increase the hp and torque on the old 07.  103 hp and 117 ft-lbs.  Ran like a bat out of you know what.

When you shipped your headers to Jet Hot, did you remove the exhaust flange and the retaining ring or leave them on?

Just take off the heat shields and send it. They do a great job.

C'mon Steve.  This group can write three full pages of posts about a dipstick and literally volumes about two or three different Road Glide windshields.  Three years old is no challenge at all :huepfenlol2: .
