:-\ :-\ :-\

In too have the same questions but I have tried the KW 10.5" and am returning for three reason:

1.  It actually measures 12" inches just like an HD stock shield on a non-CVO of which is right in my site line.
KW was great and are shipping me a 6.5" (the next smaller size).  I am skeptical because it measures like an 8" HD of which might be good for me but I am looking
for less two up buffeting.  The 10" HD is fine for me, but does have lots of buffeting for my wife.
2. It has lots of vibration at idle and some at speed.

3.  It does appear to reduce wind noise below say 65 but is no better at speeds above this.

On the positive side, the side wind does go down a lot as indicated.  I could not tell the about the down force.

The Cee Bailey has a size for everyone and a buddy let me ride his 12" SSC which is representative of an equivalent 9" HD.  It was very nice and the material appears to be very thick as indicated.

No knowledge of the CV but seems it has a good rep.

Help

Any

Hi There Diamondback,

All I can say is that one of my friends who sold me on the Clearview re-curve shields had tried four different manufacturer's shields before finally installing the re-curve.  Not only was he amazed at how well it worked at keeping the wind off of him, his wife now enjoys riding as a passenger a whole lot more because she too is now out of the wind. ;D

He has a '07 Ultra and went with the 8" re-curve.  However, I discovered after installing an 8" re-curve, with the CVO Ultra's coming equipped with a heated seat (and thus having more padding than a standard Ultra), I sit higher in my saddle than I do on his and have now ordered the 9-1/2" re-curve to make up for the difference.  This should allow me to clearly see over the top and still be protected from the wind.

Hope this helps.

Take care & ride safe,

Thanks, it looks like I'm going to do the same.  Only question is the 9.5" or the 10.5".

I'm 6'1" with 33 inseam.

I like to look "through" the shield at times.  With the tinted shield is visibility / safety ever a concern?  It looks cool, but I'd rather see as best as I can.  When you are wearing tinted sunglasses, aren't you getting "Twice" the tint? Riding at night a concern? Should I go clear?

The KW 10.5 actually measures as if it was a standard HD 12".

The stock CVO HD is 10" and the KW which I was hoping was only .5" higher would work.  It did not and it is on its way back.

That said the 10.5" did a great job of shielding the wind so if you like a 12" HD shield it would be great.  I didn't like the vibration at idle but that's just me.  The shield vibrates at idle a lot.  It does a good job of side air as advertised.

KW was great to deal with so they sent me a 6.5" to try.  As I suspected it is better but the idea was to get an additional 2" effective shield for the two up but the 6.5" does not work so it too is on its way back.

I was going to try a Clear View 9.5" as I am 6'1" with a 33" inseam.  Anybody have suggestions as to is this right height????

I'm 5' 10" and currently have a 9.5" Clearview recurve, it's better than standard but I still get a bit of buffeting at the top of my helmet so I've ordered a 12".

Thanks.
