Saddlebag Extension Kit

Give your saddlebags the "tail dragger" look. Originally featured on the '09 CVO™ Road Glide®, these extensions visually stretch the saddlebags and wrap around the exhaust for a true "low rider®" look. Manufactured from the same durable ABS material as the Original Equipment saddlebags, these extensions are ready to prime, paint and attach to the saddlebag bottoms. No filler or re-painting of the Original Equipment bag is necessary. Finish the look with available Color-Matched Saddlebag Filler Strips (sold separately).

 90999-09

Fits '04-later Touring models equipped with Color Matched Hard Saddlebags.

The tail light assembly etc. will be next. Got love it, spend 31 K up front, or spend 25K and then another 15K to get it to look like a 31K bike.

Really gots to love it.  Take a few dollars worth of plastic, injection mold it, and then sell it unprepped and unpainted for $300.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I think I'd rather waste my money on the more functional stylish stuff, like guardian angel bells and bull testicle hitch covers.

Jerry

btw, I didn't notice in the writeup, but for $300 do you get the glue on "skid plates", or is that another additional cost option?

I saw those and was wondering what they would look like on an SEUC...but I have a feeling they would look stupid on there.  I just looked at a rear photo of my bike, and I'm wondering how they would really look.  Maybe they would be okay.  I guess I'll have to wait and see if anyone else does this.  I don't think I want to be the first for this mod.

OK, so here's a stupid question....If HD won't sell you CVO paint and won't give you the paint codes...how can you color match them?

Just a note on the "skid plates" which I posted somewhere else, but forgot where.  The skid plates are just held on with an adhesive strip.  They will not stay on with any shear, nor after compression, they will come off.  I lost my footing when arriving home from picking up my brand new bike, and lost the battle and set the bike down on the crash bar on the left side.  The next day my friend noticed the skid plate was loose.  I removed it easily and drilled it out, countersunk the holes and installed some CRES secres.  I wanted to use bolts, washers, and lock nuts but you have to remove the extensions to gain access for the nuts.  I wasn't sure they will come off with out some collateral damage to the paint on the bags or extensions.  The extensions do not exactly match the surface of the bag extensions, so any force on them will cause the adhesive bond to fail.  Hopefully next time they see any force, one of the screws should retain the plates even if the other screw is pulled out of the abs plastic.  Just a note, I will be watching progress on installing the extensions to see if other issues emerge.

Most auto paint suppliers have a "camera" that they put right against the painted part in question and take the picture .It will then tell you the different pigments that make that color and how much you need of each to make it happen.I had it matched on my truck a few years back on my suburban to put on an aftermarket hood and it was spot on.Just an FYI.Toby

I understand a 'basic' color, but can they do that with all the different metal flake in the 08 Copper Canyon?
