I'm turning 14.5K miles and all is well.

Megavolt...no fuel-injected bike should act "cold-blooded"....I let mine run for 15-20 sec or so just to let the oil circulate up to the heads, but I can jet off anytime.  Sounds like you need a retune on the dyno.
T

The only changes since it was dyno tuned are the new heads with the new ACR, and the new fuel pump (both due to recalls).  Should either of those changes require a retune?  Do new heads require a break-in period?

I get the 93 Octane Esso gas here (yep, it's still Esso over here).  That is the highest I have seen - is the gas different enough in Germany to require a retune?  The bike is not Eurospec and I think it would be difficult to find someone to tune it here - I bet they would want to lean it out so that it had lower emissions than it currently does.  My SE Mufflers and roll-your-own air intake are not stock, and technically are not legal here.

:(
Well,  from experience with my 2001 injected RK (Old style M&M EFI),  I would agree with that comment...however, my (dyno tuned) 2009 SE Ultra is COLD BLOODED........takes a few minutes to settle down and does buck, etc. for the first several minutes. :cherry:

Good description of what this does.  It reminds me of a horse that has not been ridden for a while.  Bucks a bit and tries to break free and take off on you - you have to coax it gently to behave in your neighborhood (or let it take off if in someone else's).

It certainly has more personality than my stock Road Glide did, never quite the same bike two rides in a row.  If ridden gently it gets a bit squirrelly; it is only well behaved if I beat on it a bit.  The harder I ride it the better is seems to run.

Mines going back in to the dealer tomorrow.  In another post,  I think I described the "race kit" and the 260 SE cams that do not give torque on the (low end) as I would like.  They are gonna see about what can be done....different cams, etc.

In the meantime,  yesterday it coughed when downshifting at an intersection and now seems to be running on one cylinder.  I haven't had a plug foul since my S&S carbed Wide glide back in the '90s.  Got to get to the bottom of this new glitch. >:(

MegaV:  NEW fuel pump???  The only recall I am aware is the fuel pump filter cannister, not the whole pump.  However, IF you did get an entire pump, is it possible the fuel pressure is different?  If so, that will change the AF ratio and give you those problems.  Normally, I would say NO, new heads, ACRs, and such should not change anything.  But SOMETHING has changed if before the bike ran fine across the range and now, after the new heads, it doesn't.  I would press for a check of the ECU for trouble codes and, if ok, a dyno run.

ACR = Automatic Compression Release - electrically activated device that relieves cylinder pressure during engine cranking (eases load on starter)

Just back back from Rolling Thunder.  At about 10K I had the engin replaeced.  I now have 14,500 and may needsome front cylinder head workdue to bad seals.  I lose about 1.5 Qts of oilin 1,500 miles.  My dealer is aware and is monitoring the situation.  At my 15 k service I expect to have the work done, but the bike runs great and I am loving it.  a 500 mile weekend is good, but I am looking forward to a real trip.

Have Fun

:)

Thanks......I didn't pick up on the term right away.  I guess I'm the proud owner of two sets of heads already  drilled for the ACR devices.  My original set is now in a box in my garage (for sale),  and my replacement set (ported and with larger intake valves via the 110 race kit....) is now on the bike.

I have to like 'em cause my buddy has the "manual" type and burns his fingers many times when he has to punch those manual releases to start his scoot. ;D

'08 SERK, 4,000 miles, no recall work, no problems.

Okay, so maybe I jinxed myself.  :nixweiss: Just over 4,000 miles, was plugging in the Battery Tender a couple weeks ago and noticed a film of oil on the cover on top of the trans. Saw minor leak at rear of rear gasket.   :veryangry:  So, I dropped it off at the dealer on Friday and they tell me they have to order the parts (although I called a week before to set up an appointment to drop it off and mentioned it was for the recall)...  Let's see how long they have it and if it comes back in good condition...

I haven't had the recall/product improvement done on either bike, and no oil leaks or other issues.

'07 SE Springer:  2700 miles, bone stock except for Nightrider IED installed at 1100 miles.

'08 SEUC:  7600 miles, has PC III, Bub 7 headers, SE mufflers, breather.
