Nova Redux
« on: June 11, 2009, 12:01:19 PM »

While I was dropping my scooter off for service I was talking to one of the old dawgs about future models , and as we all know nothing is ever really known until after the dealers meetings.

He did  mention that HD is revisiting the Nova project , as some may recall this was a V-4 prototype that never made it into production.  (http://www.bikerenews.com/AntiqueBikes/CodeNameNova.htm)

I thought that was interesting , perhaps it will be a next gen V-rod ...

He indicated he "wouldn't be surprised "  that HD had a liquid cool  Touring bike as soon as 2011.

All just heresay at this point , but it is inevitable that they are coming.

Oh the Nova was ugly .. but that was 25 years ago, lots of ugly in those days.

It should be interesting to see how long HD stays with the legacy engines, and how they will introduce any subsequent engine platforms.

The V-rod baggers I've seen with Road Glide fairings and bags looked nice .

I was just at the HD MUSEUM.  I think the Nova has a bunch of cool ideas, especially considering the time when it was done.  The air scoops to a hidden radiator I thought was very cool idea.  If you have ever heard the V4 VMAX with aftermarket exhaust ....IMHOP they sound incredible.
