from my understanding myrtle beach has already spent over 100k in legal cost from these citations issued. the most they can collect from them is around 5k. speaking about the freedom ride in feb.

government at its best

That is what I heard. They posted BIG TIME on the net in an attempt to get all that they could to attend. They weren't going to be forced out by a stupid helmet ordinance. BBW was originally Atlantic Bike Week which is North of Myrtle, that WAS their ground zero.

I love it, the Atlantic Beach city administration is proposing an additional rally in fall....two BBW events. The city of MB is going to get what they deserve.

Having spent a little time in the area a month or so ago speaking with the locals I now have a different point of view on the matter. I kept hearing complaints of the crime more so than the general bike population. It SOUNDS like it is the crews that come in for the events that aren't on bikes that are causing a majority of the trouble. Again this is just what we heard while visiting the various places. With that said I agree, the area needs to gain control and allow the events to progress under their control. How Myrtle went about it was all wrong without a doubt.
