New TTS fix for SERT to 08 TBW?
« on: July 08, 2009, 12:20:18 PM »

I was told that Steve Cole was working on developing a download to fix the throttle lag that the early 08's had when used with the older SERT. (The one without the red button). My bike was running lousy right after the dealer installed the SERT and did the Dyno tune. I had what has been described as throttle lag, I also had quite a bit of backfiring as well. The dealer removed the Dyno tune and installed a map from the MOCO. It was worse that ever, after the dealer checked it out he said the MOCO screwed him by sending him the California map and he would have to do it over again and eat the labor. Well after it was done he asked me if I would help him eat some of his labor loss? he wanted me to pay for an hour of labor but if I felt uncomfortable he could live with 1/2 hour! He told me in exact words that the MOCO screwed him and he needed to recoup his losses! I was puzzled and asked him how do you feel by being screwed by the MOCO, he said it wasn't fair, so I asked him how do you think I feel when you want to pass your loss to me! He reluctantly agreed and told me to go while he was feeling generous. I will deal with him at a later date, currently my bike shuts down by the rev limiter rather quickly and at different RPM's that just plain sucks. His solution was for me to purchase a new Super SERT at full price and pay 4 hours of DYNO time. I don't think so! Is there a product that will allow me to fix this without breaking the bank?

I had planned to go to Dave's Cycle in Bethlehem PA. for a new TTS tuner and some DYNO time but I injured my left arm and I can't take long trips for a little while. Plus I'm back to paying for a job a second time. I don't think I can handle doing it myself so I don't know how to go about getting this done properly. Between the constant rain and a lousy tune my summer has not been so great.

Any advice on how to proceed with this?

Thanks

Ray,
I know Dave he's done work for me in the past. I just bought my 2nd TTS tuner from him.I know you can load a map that is close to what you have  if you have a laptop or any kind of computer you can plug into the bike. If you have a laptop you can Vtune it yourself or  when you able ride it to Dave's shop for him to dyno tune if your uneasy about it.

I had the TTS tuner on my 07 UC 107 and it was easy to use,the TTS tuner I installed on my 09 I doubt will ever see the dyno with just a stage 1 air filter and slipon,I just don't think its necessary.

I know Dave will work with you give him a call.

The upgrade fromthe old SERT to Mastertune has been done for sometime now. You need to go to our web site and download the SERT upgrade software and see if your unit can be upgraded. If it can the cost is about 100 bucks. Then you will have all the newer TTS calibration that solve your issues.
