Help with Hwy peg ideas
« on: July 12, 2009, 08:20:21 AM »

I know this is the place to get some ideas.  I have an 08 RK police bike that I've completely customized looks like an SERK Plus  I've taken off the hwy crashbar but now miss a place to stretch out my feet.  I've moved the floorboards up and out which helped a lot.  Thought about cruise arms but they don't make them to fit an 08.  I put some switchblades from fatbaggers on an older bike but they didn't help that much plus kinda of dangerous.  I was thinking of something like a mustache bar but I can't find one to fit a touring bike.  Kuryankan has some new floorboard attachments coming out in Aug that might work.  Any good ideas..
Thanks Terry

I was thinking of something like a mustache bar but I can't find one to fit a touring bike.

Terry,

Try Lindby Customs. They have several moustache bars that fit H-D touring bikes of all years. I have the Linbar. You might be interested in the TwinBar which has built-in, flip-out highway pegs.

Thanks Rick
I actually did look at those and like them better than the regular crash guard.  I was looking more at the mustache that just basically is one bar across.  The problem is that finding one that would work on a touring bike that you could mount low on the frame.  I want to be able to put my feet up and out a couple of inches but still keep them low.  I may end up going with the lindy (the one they make for the softail would be great as its curves keep it in low) eventually.  I seen one on a guy bike that he just went to a machine ship and had them turn some solid steel then had it chromed then mounted it with the kurankan foot pegs and clamps.  Thats another option..
Thanks for the ideas
