IS THERE GOING TO BE A 3RD SEAT REVISION AVAILABLE SOON?
« on: July 20, 2009, 03:59:18 PM »

I read someplace that the dealer had told them that a 3rd revision was in the works and their seat would be replaced with the new version.

I can't say much as I've only ridden it about 400 miles for just two days, but I can see the gap while riding.  Once off the bike, the seat will gradually go back up and cover the gap, barely.

I tried my '08 Sundowner seat that I purchased for the '08 SERK and guess what, it has an extra 3/4" of overlap up the tank.  It's cut out on the bottom to lay over the dash piece.  When I sat on it there was no gap to be seen.

This should not be rocket science, they make it work on other bikes, how can they be so blind in this case?

So, any word on a final replacement seat that will cover the spread?

To be honest, I don't see how a so called seat made without a formidable seat pan can hold the contour of the SERG for the long haul. I don't have much faith in a seat I can fold and put in the saddle bag. That is why I am spending some of my children's inheritance on the LePera 100 % Leather covered Sorrento w/ Santa Fe stitch and Shark color thread.

Unfortunately,  very well said FLTRCVO.  I'm trying to find enough "stuff" to sell on Ebay and get me a good saddle.

I fought the fight with the Moco... After argument and persuasion, they sent me a replacement seat.  The seat looked perfect for all of one day...   After a long ride the gap returned...  >:(

Sooooo...   Now I'm riding atop a Corbin Solo.  I posted earlier on that I had some concerns regarding Corbin's quality and that I'd be hard pressed to buy another one.  Well, I'm here to tell you that I went against my better judgment and bought the Corbin anyway.  And the seat is perfect!  It arrived in perfect condition and looks great.  No regrets, they did a great job.

AND NO GAP!

Next purchase will be a pillion for the BSR for those extremely rare instances when she doesn't feel like riding her own bike...  +1 for Corbin this time.

The Moco should be honored to know that they are sending their loyal following of HD CVO enthusiast out to other Seat Building OEMS to buy their products instead of HD Parts.  Ludicrous to think the Moco wants to give further exposure to other OEMS to peddle their products to us when this could have been easily remedied.  Pathetic actually...

I read someplace that the dealer had told them that a 3rd revision was in the works and their seat would be replaced with the new version.

I posted on another thread that I was getting a new seat. They have ordered it, but it hasn't shipped and it is not on backorder. They are telling me that Moco went back to the vendor and they have "tightened up the specs" and will be shipping out the "new" seats shortly. I have serious doubts about "tightening up the specs" as it looks like they need to "build a decent seat pan" if they are gonna fix the problem. But no worries since the service Manager said if I am not satisfied, he will credit me what he gets from the Moco and I can order any seat I want and pay the difference.
