The version 2.0 CD's that came with my '09 are not copy protected.  I just made a backup copy using the disk copy feature of the software that came with my laptop computer and it copied fine and works fine.  To my knowledge, personal backup copies are considered a "fair use" under copyright law.

I purchased a 2007 FLHTCUSE2 and the previous owner hasn't found his nav CDs.  If these are not copyrighted, can I pay someone to make me a copy and send them to me?

Thanks for your help.

allthough under most legislations it's perfectly legal to make a backup-copy for personal use, sending around copies to third parties definitely is not. So I suggest you find a little more discreet way to deal with this sort of needs instead of advertising names and adresses of offenders via internet  ;D

Normally I would agree wholeheartedly but earlier posts suggested the disks were not copyrighted.  If they are, I would not agree to breaking the law.

Also- I hoped someone might have some they weren't using.

Earlier posts suggest the disks are not copy "protected", meaning they can be copied with a cd/dvd duplicator.  There is no doubt however that the disks are copyright protected, meaning they can't be copied and given away, sold, transferrred, etc.

I have the 2007 cds and would like to beta test any newer disks.  Can anyone make an ISO copy of a newer disk and make available online??  bit torrent and http://btjunkie.org/ is great for testing before purchase
