TTS Mastertune MTE Files
« on: September 09, 2009, 10:53:40 AM »

Is there anyway to view the backup ECM MTE file?  I would like to look at the original file that HD produced to compare it to the Fullsac one.

I thought Steve posted that they were in the Master Tune software.... i/e you can view, save and change them and then go back to the factory origional maps if need be.  Am I wrong too

You can view and edit the MT6 & MT7 files.  I tried to rename the MTE file to a MT7 file and no luck.  I was hoping to load the file and check the factory settings for the AFR, etc.

just leave those alone, good thing you can't open them. might do some damage.
stock or base map is just the beginning. you need to V-tune to get the optimum from Mastertune

So Larry the Master Tune won't let you "view" and save the factory loaded map either. Am I right or wrong???

I am sitting here with a box full of the newest SSERT stuff unopened trying to decide (for me) what the better approach is to my small tuning needs.

Most here think Master Tune and some swear by the new SSERT with data logger. Have any of you professional guys actually tried the new SSERT with the data logger besides Steve?? If so what are your thoughts if they haven't been expressed in the earlier posts and discussions.

Regards

The base "tuning" cals are part of the TTS software but not the MoCo factory cals.
Base tuning cals are of course viewable.
You can extract your MoCo factory cal from your ECM, it's suffixed as an MTE file.
MTE files are not viewable.

FWIW, several guys I have tuned for with a TTS wish they would have not have first spent their money on the SEPST.
Return yours while you can (unopened).

Thats why I am asking... The guys who do this for a living have opinions on what works and what doesn't work and I for one am listening.

I am really interested in any recent experience with the 2010 bikes, the new bungs, and the data logger hooked up to the SSERT.

I was hoping for some responses that could objectively say that it is a "newer product that is faster, better and more accurate" than the competition and the earlier SERT Product.

Also, I was told (rumor control) that there is a very new release of the product. My HD Bar Code sticker is 8/09 for the SSERT. Maybe some of the gaps/holes have been filled.

If you have the 2010 product release of the SESPT there have been no updates released as of this morning. While I expect that there will be to fix some of the issues they are not there yet.

Larry, I have installed 2" fullsacs and TTS Mastertune, completely removed the cat, and I'm running the stock SERG a/c. I installed the map provided by Steve at Fullsac. Do you think I could benefit by setting up the V-tune? The bike seems to run good, but could it be better? How hard is it to set up the V-tune?

yes, by all means do the V-Tune, that's the real beauty of the product. it tunes to your specific bike and how YOU ride. easy to set up. best advice I can give you is DO NOT turn the bike off when you finish until after you Stop the program. read the Help files
