Clearview Windsheild
« on: August 03, 2009, 10:24:59 AM »

Hello Everyone,

The day after I picked up Petunia I ordered the Clearview GS Small with recurve.  Now after six LONG weeks I expect delivery on Friday.  Is there anything I need to make it fit?

Will the stock gasket work?
Do I need to order a different gasket?

I have read all of the threads over past few month and I makes my head spin with all of the details.

Thanks

Charles,

I installed mine yesterday - the same one.

Follow the written instructions to the letter.  It is quite simple.  There are no "tricks."  However, the instructions do not say what to do with the gasket.  Install by wrapping it over the bottom edge and then proceed to the written instructions.

I am not in any way mechanically inclined.  It was, however, very simple for me to do and took about 20 minutes.  The hardest part was threading the gasket.

Best regards,

Vic

Hello Vic,
Nice riding with you a couple of weeks ago.  Please let me know how you like your new windshield.  I'm still looking for something for my long distance rides that will be an improvement of the 12" KW I am currently using.

I like mine - standard height...I'm 5"10" and look over the top about 2", 1" if slouched.  More protection & less wind noise for me & BSR.  I like the Cee Bailey's, but I ordered too short, sold it, and it's just as good. I don't like the gasket though, and it you put on the chrome cover, Clearview has a well-nut kit that makes it fit.

I still can't figure out of the chrome trim will fit the CVO.

The chrome trim will fit. I have seen it in person and there is someone on the site that has it. IMO it looks just OK.

Well Vic,

After I re-read your post about the gasket, I now understand what you mean.
