I thought Paul senior's comment about it being quiet, that you could always put cards in the wheels was funny.

At some point someone will offer an electric powered factory bike. They are already racing electrics, They sound strange but with the right setup they are very fast. Interesting science project.

There is a local company that manufactures small high Hp/Tq electric motors. They have one about the size of a 16" truck tire that puts out 450hp. It's liquid cooled and uses a special 12 phase high frequency drive system. Strange seeing such a small motor with a 2-1/2" dia. output shaft. They're used on drill heads and Naval propulsion systems.

PA44-5W-002 Permanent Magnet Brushless Motor

Rugged, reliable and powerful, DRS’s Permanent Magnet Brushless Motors are built to last under the most demanding conditions.

The PA44 Motor delivers more horsepower per pound than other electric machines, and it works just as well as a generator, delivering reliable power over a broad range of speeds.

A Powerful Package

Combine the rugged construction of the DRS PA44 Motor with its companion drive, the MD500, and you have enough control over power and torque to make granite shudder. The compact, water-cooled MD500 drive is designed specifically to deliver peak performance from the PA44 motor. Together, the PA44 and MD500 are the perfect choice for demanding jobs where light weight, high efficiency and precise control are essential.

You would have to have a CD Player and speakers to make the potato potao sound or it would be too hazardous to blind people.  I don't make this stuff up.  It was noted in the news that this is a problem with electric cars.

Or put baseball cards in the spokes.  We used to use water ballons too, but they lasted as long as a D408F.

Bill Dube is the owner of the Killacycle, or what's left of it after he's doing a burnout in front of a convention on electronics.

Thanks for sharing this link, amazing someone so smart can be so stupid. The bike sounds and looks impressive.

I just can't imagine riding an electric bike. My biggest concern hinges on when I bought my wife an 06 deluxe and she insisted on leaving the stock exhaust on the bike. I would ride the bike putting miles on to get it broke in and I just couldn't believe how many people would cut me off or pull in front of me. I am sure it's because of the lack of sound the bike made due to the stock exhaust. I have been riding bikes for years and most had modified exhaust so its been a long time since riding with something so quiet and I couldn't believe how it changed my riding habits. I would think it would be much worse with an electric bike. I guess they will bury me with my seeg and sefb....Roy
