Results of muffler changes
« on: August 13, 2009, 11:46:40 AM »

There has been much discussion about the results of changes to exhaust, tune, intake and I thought I'd share my experiences.

We just got back from a 25,000 "test run" using Fullsac muffler cores (1.75), Screaming eagle air cleaner, TTS custom map (thanks to Steve and Doc). Cat less header pipe.
This in on my '09 UC, so, I will assume the 110" bikes will react a little differently.
I checked gas mileage and general running order of the bike for the last 4 and a half months.
Results: Driveability, excellent! No issues at all with engine performance, this was using octane anywhere from 87 to 93. We were riding 2-up, pulling a trailer at 400lbs!
Gas mileage ranged from 32 to 53 (trailer was parked, tail wind, down hill, LOL)
I could probably use a little more power (can't we all?)
Using the TTS, and no cat, we found heat from the engine to not be an issue.

I have to thank forum members for helping me make the decisions on how to make the 96" bikes run like they should.
I do not baby this new bike, I am trying to see if there will be any issues while it's still under warranty!

I will be going to the 103 upgrade in the future, either with this bike or a 2010 Limited, not sure at this point.
I have to say this bike pulls the weight I have pretty damn good! No problem keeping up with traffic.

Thanks again to all who suggested mods to the new bikes.
