Fuel pump power?
« on: August 16, 2009, 04:42:38 PM »

02 FLHT

 Fuel Sender works
No power to pump

O/GY wire no power.....follow wire to plug 10 ignition harness.....continuity in wire

follow wire to Fuel pump fuse.....no power....gets power from system relay

Relay has constant power but NO switched power W/Bk wire from plug 13 ECM....also goes to plug 2 Main Wiring Harness

MWH plug 2 goes into Interconnect Harness plug 6.........then to Right Hand Control plug 4 through the Engine off/run switch.....turns to GY and back through plug 3 Interconnect Harness...through plug 3 Main Harness.....

GY feeds plug 2 TSSM and onto Ignition fuse...which has power.

Before I put fuel in tank, turn key on and power commander had power now it does not.

Put fuel in tank.......

Turn on key.....red key on gauge lights up and both turn signals flash 6 times

Engine Cranks!!! :nixweiss: no fuel or spark

does TSSM need to be re flashed

When you turn the key on the power commander has power then after the 4 way flashers do their thing and flash 6 times telling me that there has been a code within the last 3 ignition cycles...ther is no power to the PC.

Cut key off and wait 10 seconds and turn ignition key back on and PC will power up again but for only a few seconds :nixweiss:

Have you tried removing the PCIII to see if you get fuel pump?

I agree with Jim, bypass the PC and see what happens.

Have disconnected the PC.....

seems that you will get power for 2 seconds when key turned on...nothing again till motor turns over and CKS lets connection continue. Need to check connections on CKS and do a test on it. New one could be bad :confused5: Just my luck

On with testing this after noon

I only here my pump for a few seconds, then the check light goes out and the pump stops, then once you crank the motor the crank position sensor should supply the ECU with the info that the crank is spinning and the ECU will supply power to the pump and spark. Might be a bad crank position sensor? What is the CKS, I'm not familiar with that one?

Can't type....CKS is the CPS

Found wires 5 and 19 to be crossed in the ECM harness. Guess the God almighty Harley tech screwed up again

Now everything seems to be working but still won't start. Need to check fuel pressure and spark next
