Gary, someday you and I will actually have to take a ride together. Maybe a meet in the middle (of the country). If not for the ride, at least to gather more ammo.  ;) We will be up in Wyoming/Montana next late spring.....?

Hey Moe, you are going to like the handle bars. I chickened out and paid Jim to do mine. But the new bars give a much better feeling, a little wider and a little closer much better for us folks with a limited wing span. Much better riding position for us. Good luck with your mods.  :bananarock:

So far the bars look good.  I'm thinking though I should have went to the 12".  I definately have a short wing span.  I have it done except for the brakes lines.  I'm going to try to have them lenghtened.  If it can't be done I will probably get a shop to make me up a set.  While I was in there I changed out the speakers to a set of Polk Audio's.  One problem I had with the install was the bike had the MP3 player installed when I bought it and now it doesn't fit properly with the new bars (gap).  Unfortunately the chrome brake control clamp didn't come with the bike so I had to order one.  No big deal and I never used the MP3 player anyway.  Now I have to change all of my mounts, ie: cup holder, GPS, etc.  I'm sure in the end it will all be worth it.  The job took about 8 hours total.

PS:  I would like to hunt down and shoot the nit who designed the radio mounts and front bolts for the bar clamps.  What a pita to get out.

Cheers, Moe :bananarock:

Oh yea I forgot about those Chubby's are 11/4" instead of 1". I had to get bigger clamps for certain very necessesary additions to the bars, some you mentioned.  :huepfenlol2: The Mrs. teases me about hanging more stuff on the bars. Hope it all works out for you.
