« on: September 10, 2009, 04:18:42 PM »

Has anyone changed out there fuel filter on there 08 SEUC. If you have can you provide any helpful hint's or pictures on changing that filter. I only need feedback from owners that have a 08 SEUC. It is different than all other earlier models.

Well I decided to dive into this Filter replacement and after reading the service manual a couple of times I proceeded into the tank. There is allot of stuff crammed into the tank but it all comes out if you hold your face the right way. On the 08 taking the filter housing apart is really quite easy. I was amazed at how black and plugged up the filter was. I would not recommend anyone to go 36,500 miles on a fuel filter replacement. I know Harley says to change it out at 25,000 but Kasper was running good except for the every 3 or 4 month engine shutdown but let me tell you after I put it all back together and took it for an evening run that bike now runs like I never realized it would!! Fuel delivery is soooo smooth with less throttle and no hesitations!! I think I will do this task about every 10,000 miles because of all the crap they put in our fuels. PM me if you need specific details on changing this fuel filter. Easy change out and a good savings from stealer labor at Harley.

Hey DB54,

I'd like the run-down on changing the fuel filter.

TIA

Your saying you knew the filter change was suppose to be done at 25,000, but waited till 36,500.
And now you want to do it every 10,000 miles.....   :nixweiss:

I have been inside the 08 tank, pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

Glad she runs better.

Dick, I felt the bike was running pretty good and people had told me what a pain in the butt it was to change it so I just left it alone thinking that was just another money maker for Harley but I decided to go ahead and change it because I had read some where that someone had let theres go to far that it came un glued and got into the ejectors so I thought I better do this. After I changed it I felt a considerable difference in the bike so I am going to change it more often especially with all the additives they put in our fuel.

I agree with you, I just wouldn't have waited that's all.

Sometimes I do that crap with my diesel, and after I do it I always regret that I waited.

Something about good flow   :2vrolijk_21:
