Changing out paint set.
« on: September 27, 2009, 12:11:18 PM »

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the paint sets from say an 08/09/10 SEUC are interchangeable? Just something that crossed my mind. Let's say you could not get the color you wanted, or you wanted to upgrade your color to the color from a newer year.I am talking fairing, saddlebags, fenders , side covers, tourpak. Could they be purchased new ready to bolt on in a specific color. They must be available for repair purposes. Just something that crossed my mind.CAHDBIKER

My guess is if you don't have the right VIN # for the paint set you want to get you are going to have a hard time getting that set from the MoCo. :nixweiss: Some places have sold pieces of paint sets to members (w/o requiring a VIN #) that have replaced parts on their bikes, but to order a complete paint set IMO might throw some red flags up and you could be asked for a VIN #. :nixweiss:

I have to agree with d00d on this one.  I would bet that the paint sets are model year/vin restricted.  Otherwise everybody would have orange and black or black and orange.  Right Gary?   :huepfenlol2:

08 frame is different from 09 and 10.
Just an FYI.
